Duroy Makeup Brushes – Overview
The Duroy makeup brush collection consists of nearly two hundred different types of brushes, ranging from disposable lipstick or mascara brushes to almost "eternal" eyeshadow and foundation brushes, depending on their use. Whatever type of brush you might need, you are likely to find it in Duroy's selection. Since Duroy provides tools and makeup accessories for both consumers and beauty professionals, high quality has always been a priority for Duroy. A significant portion of the brushes are handcrafted in Germany, Korea, and China. As a reliable Finnish company, Duroy's products are always high-quality and ethically produced.
More than a dozen different brush series are available to meet as many needs as possible, whether for a young person just starting with makeup or a long-time beauty professional. Every type of makeup artist is sure to find the brushes that best fit their hand from Duroy. New trends are constantly being monitored, and the brush selection evolves with the ever-changing beauty industry.
One of the newest series is the vegan Natura, made with bamboo handles and synthetic bristles. Other popular brush series include the signature series designed by makeup artist Raili Hulkkonen and the Red Devil and Imperial series, each containing up to thirty different brushes.
Duroy brushes use both synthetic bristles and natural bristles, such as sable, squirrel, or goat hair. All bristles are certified and sourced responsibly, adhering to ethical principles. The wood used in the wooden-handled brushes is also FSC-certified. Almost every type of brush is available in both synthetic and natural bristle versions, making it easy to choose the brush that best suits your needs.
The scales on the natural bristles bind the color to themselves, releasing it softly and beautifully onto the skin. Natural bristle brushes, due to their scaly structure, are better suited for powdery makeup products like blushes and eyeshadows and are slightly more expensive than synthetic brushes. However, with proper care, they can last for decades. Natural bristle brushes soften with use, so the end result only improves over time. It can be said that a natural bristle brush gets better with age.
Traditionally, synthetic bristle brushes have been better suited for creamy and liquid makeup products than powdery ones. However, with current technology, synthetic bristles can mimic the structure of squirrel hair, resulting in an equally stunning finish. The difference in use may not even be noticeable. Brushes made from synthetic fibers are often slightly more affordable than natural bristle brushes, but there is no need to compromise on durability. Synthetic brushes made from nylon, taklon, and polyester fibers are excellent for tasks requiring special precision, such as lipstick or eyeliner brushes. Synthetic fibers naturally attract each other, making precise brush use very easy.
